ICYMI: See Stories Sony Create Action Film

See Stories could not be more grateful for the support of a Sony Create Action grant. The proposal was written by the amazing Lauren Scantlebury (@lshscantlebury) in 2022 when she served as our Story Coordinator, and the award provided See Stories with $50,000 funding, $50,000 worth of Sony gear for our youth workshops, and a professionally produced film by Jake Vira Montez (@jakeviramontez) about our work in Angoon. This support came at the perfect moment, as we transitioned to a teeny-tiny start-up nonprofit to a growing, stable nonprofit with several staff-members. Sony believed in See Stories and our vision and trusted us to utilize the funds to maximize impact, which in the nonprofit world is the biggest gift of all. As a result we were able to grow our staff, grow our programs, and share the story of what we do with the world. Thank you, Sony Alpha!
