The Immigrant Story
Students of the 2016 Summer Film Intensive, a collaboration between AKTEACH, the Kodiak Island Borough School District, See Stories and the Baranov Museum, explored the history and science of Kodiak’s fishing industry. In this film, Janny E explores what brings the world to Kodiak and the ties of our fishing industry to immigration.

The 2016 Summer Film Intensive, a collaborative effort by AKTEACH, the Kodiak Island Borough School District, See Stories, and the Baranov Museum, offered students a unique opportunity to delve into Kodiak's rich fishing industry. Through this course, participants explored the historical and scientific aspects of Kodiak's maritime heritage, gaining hands-on experience and deep insights into the vital role of fishing in the community.
