Tchabo documents Kyle Johnson Jr.’s experience welcoming the Hōkūle’a into his community, Angoon, and the connection between Angoon and the Hōkūle’a crew. Tchabo’s film explores themes of resilience, culture revitalization, and youth leadership. This film was created after an Ethnomath Symposium in Honolulu in November of 2023, and See Stories’ participation was generously funded by the Chatham School District.
