Friends Forever

See Stories taught an after-school Film Camp at East High School. Refugee & immigrant students wrote and recorded a song with the support of musicians Steven Bacon (stevenbacon.com) and Shirley Staten (keystolife.org), and recorded and edited music videos using their song as the base-line. This Film Camp was made possible by the Anchorage School District’s English Language Learners Program and the Rasmuson Foundation through the Arts in Education Fund, and is administered, under contract, by the Alaska State Council on the Arts. We hope you enjoy the students’ song and music video, titled Friends Forever.

Workshop Info

These films where created in an after-school course for East High School English Language Learner students. Students received professional guidance from Story Works and See Stories to create short cultural films and stories on topics ranging from boxing to cooking, and from family stories to fasting for Ramadan. This project was generously funded by the Alaska State Council on the Arts Cultural Heritage Grant, East High School, and the Anchorage School District.
