This film explores a first-person perspective of Typhoon Merbok from a teacher living in Golovin in western Alaska. A suspenseful look into the flooding, the threat of evacuation, and the damage to the community. First-hand photographs, footage, and insights into this historic event as it happened.

This film was created at See Stories’ Professional Development Retreat for Educators in Homer Alaska, in June 2024 as part of the Digital Storytelling as a Culturally Responsive Teaching Tool course.
