Home!

This film was created in an after-school course for East High School English Language Learner students. Students received professional guidance from Story Works and See Stories to create short cultural films and stories on topics ranging from boxing to cooking, and from family stories to fasting for Ramadan. This project was generously funded by the Alaska State Council on the Arts Cultural Heritage Grant, East High School, and the Anchorage School District.

This short video tells the story of a family that moved from Kenya to the United States and then back to Kenya, highlighting their journey and experiences. Through personal reflections, “home” evolved. The video emphasizes the idea that home is where you feel most comfortable and connected, regardless of geographical location.
