Healthy Food Systems

These short documentaries are productions of students from Yaakoosge Daakahidi High School during the “Exploring Culture & Identity through Media Arts”, a two-week long all-day arts intensive, led by Seth Bader. During this culture-themed filmmaking workshop, participating students choose topics based on aspects of their cultural stories, interviewing culture bearers and community members.

This documentary delves into what constitutes a healthy food system, exploring how individuals engage with it and the challenges it faces, such as accessibility and sustainability. Key components, including local harvesting and ethical food sourcing, are highlighted as integral to a robust and nourishing food system. Through personal narratives, the film emphasizes the importance of healthy food systems for individual well-being, community resilience, and environmental sustainability.
