Cingsiit: Legends of the Central Yup’ik Tundra
Helen Ivan, an Akiak Elder, describes the little people of the Tundra, known to the Central Yup’ik as The Cingsiit (pl.). Helen describes them and retells personal stories of their helpfulness and playfullness.
This film was produced during the 2025 AHA (Anchored Histories Alaska) teacher retreat, with generous funding from the Department of Education National Activities Grant.
