Carrying Our Culture

Growing up in Yakutat, learning Tlingit culture and language is part of life. This film explores the unique experiences of several tribal members from Yakutat, including fishing, gathering medicinal plants, subsistence foods, and community values.

In February 2024, See Stories led the “Power of Place” workshop with Middle School Students from Yakutat Middle School. Students reflected on the power of the place they call home- This program was made possible by funding from the National Park Service, the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, and the Alaska Sate Council on the Arts Cultural Collaborations Grant.
