Arts and Artists in Juneau
These short documentaries are productions of students from Yaakoosge Daakahidi High School during the “Exploring Culture & Identity through Media Arts”, a two-week long all-day arts intensive, led by Seth Bader. During this culture-themed filmmaking workshop, participating students choose topics based on aspects of their cultural stories, interviewing culture bearers and community members.
A comprehensive exploration of the vibrant Juneau art scene unfolds as interviewees passionately discuss their favorite elements, be they murals, totem poles, or architecture. The conversations delve into the profound ways individuals connect through art, shedding light on available resources. Numerous programs, a wealth of natural materials, and accessible stores provide a diverse range of mediums for artists to express themselves.
